Lead Enrichment

Lead enrichment is the process of adding verified contact details, like name, email, and phone, to a record that started with almost nothing. Visitor identification is a form of enrichment, because it takes an anonymous session and fills in the person behind it.

How it works in practice

A visitor arrives with no name attached. The pixel matches the session signals to the identity graph and returns the verified contact details, the pages viewed, and an intent score. The record goes from an IP address to a complete contact without the visitor filling out a form. Enrichment happens on the session in real time, not on a list you upload later.

What it is commonly confused with

It is commonly confused with buying a contact list, which is enrichment done in bulk before anyone visits. Identification enriches the record of a person who is on your site right now, which is why it produces higher-intent contacts than a list of strangers who have not shown interest. A list is cold; an enriched session is warm because the person chose to visit you.

Why it matters to a business owner

A form fill is self-reported and often fake, with a junk email and a fake name. Enrichment from identification is verified and tied to real browsing behavior. The difference is whether your team calls a name that might be real or a name that is real and was just researching you, which changes the close rate and the morale of the team making the calls.

Non-Bot Traffic

Non-bot traffic is website visits from real humans rather than automated crawlers, scrapers, or bots. The 30% or more identification rate applies specifically to non-bot, U.S.-based traffic. Bot sessions are filtered out before any identification is attempted.

Speed to Lead

Speed to lead is the time between a prospect showing intent and your team making contact. Research from MIT found leads contacted within 5 minutes are 21 times more likely to convert than those reached after 30 minutes. Speed is the single largest factor in whether a lead closes.

Person-Level Identification

Person-level identification matches a website session to a specific individual person, with a name, email, and phone, rather than to the company they work for. It is what consumer-facing businesses like dental, legal, and home services need, because their customers are people, not companies.

Match Rate

Match rate is the percentage of your website sessions that an identification tool successfully matches to a real person. On average, LeadSpyder identifies 30% or more of non-bot, U.S.-based website traffic. Results vary by site, by traffic source, and by audience type.
